One of the three workers who were trapped after a collapse at the Santa Fe mine, in the state of Sinaloa, since March 25, was found alive this Tuesday, security sources reported.
Through a statement, it was reported that the rescue brigades located alive Francisco Zapata Nájera42 years old, and the protocols were immediately activated for the safe rescue of the worker.
Previously, the Mexican Government had indicated that non-public rescue continued with the water extraction work to be able to access ground zero of the site and advance in the rescue of the miners.
Sad news
When the news seemed hopeful for search and rescue teams, it was announced the discovery of another trapped worker who, unfortunately, had already died.
After this discovery, the technical procedures for the recovery were carried out and the Standard Prosecutor’s Office of the State of Sinaloa began the corresponding procedures for its transfer to the forensic unit, where the corresponding tests will be carried out for its identification.
The authorities maintain direct communication with relatives to inform them about the work. Meanwhile, Uninterrupted work continues at the site to locate the last trapped miner.
Agents from the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy and the Federal Electricity Commission participate in the rescue operation, along with authorities from Sinaloa and non-public from the state’s Industrial Mining company.
