Due to the friction that arose between the governments of Israel and the United States derived from the course taken by the war against Iran, Sources close to the Pentagon agree that the level of counterintelligence threat from the Jewish nation has risen.

When consulted separately, two officials and a former official agreed to tell the television network NBC Info that the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) raised the level of risk in which the US government could be immersed.

Apparently, inside the Pentagon There is serious concern that the Israeli government is surveilling senior American officials. in order to obtain information about the decisions taken by the Trump administration to confront the ongoing war conflicts in the Middle East.

One of the sources consulted even mentions the existence of a seven-page document with a graph where the DIA’s evaluation is concentrated.

The point of greatest emphasis is on Israel’s ability to conduct espionage and collect technical information at levels never seen before.

The adjustment of the US alert comes at a time of friction between President Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, caused by the way in which each intends to approach the war against the Islamic Republic, as well as Israel’s military operations in Lebanon.

However, respecting official diplomatic channels, both governments refuse to watch each other’s backs, because in the eyes of the world they continue to be allies.

“Israel does not collect intelligence information on US entities, much less US government officials. Israel’s intelligence gathering efforts are directed at its enemies, not its allies. Any assertion to the contrary is either erroneous or politically motivated,” said an Israeli spokesperson consulted by NBC.

Adopting a similar position, a White House official who asked to remain anonymous said that it was all a baseless version.

“This story is completely false and comes from someone who has no knowledge of what is happening,” he emphasized.
