Iran stated this Monday that the signing of an agreement with the United States is not imminentdespite progress in peace negotiations, due to what he considered “frequent changes” in the positions of US officials.

“It is true that we reached conclusions on many issues under discussion, but that does not mean that the signing of an agreement is imminent“said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Bagaei, at a press conference.

The spokesperson also reiterated that the negotiations are currently focused on the end of the war and not on the Iranian nuclear program, an issue that will be discussed within 60 days after the memorandum of understanding negotiated by both parties, he stated.
