The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Tuesday that is in no rush to close a peace deal with Iran that does not comply with the objectives of the war launched by his country and Israel against the Islamic Republic because the naval blockade of the Iranian coasts and ports gives them an advantage in the dialogue.
“We have annihilated their Navy, we have annihilated their Air Force. It is only a matter of time. We don’t have to rush anything. We maintain a blockade that denies them access to any type of money“Trump stated on the radio program of Sid Rosenberg, who is close to the president.
The truce in the war initiated by the United States and Israel against Iran is at its weakest moment after Trump himself described Tehran’s response to Washington’s peace proposal as “totally unacceptable,” the details of which are unknown.
At the moment, Washington maintains a naval blockade of Iran’s ports and coasts through which they have already interrupted the passage of some 65 commercial ships and disabled four, according to figures from the US Central Command.

The president warned this Monday that the ceasefire with Iran is “incredibly fragile” and said that, upon seeing the Iranian response, he felt that he was “wasting time,” which is why he noted that the truce in force since April 8 is on “assisted breathing.”
“They want to negotiate and they present us with a stupid proposal, it is a stupid proposal, and no one would accept it. Only (former President Barack) Obama would have accepted it“, said.
Trumo declared last week that if Iran accepted the agreed conditions for peace, he would end military operations and the naval blockade against the Islamic Republic, but threatened attacks of greater intensity if Tehran does not accept the pact.
“If they do not accept, the bombings will begin and, unfortunately, they will beof a much higher level and intensity than before,” said the president.
The US president, who informed Congress that the war against Iran has ended, announced last Tuesday the suspension, at the request of Pakistan, of the military operation that began a day earlier to facilitate navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, interrupted by Iran in retaliation for the war.
According to US officials, the president’s decision was then based on progress made in negotiations mediated by Islamabad. EFE
