An operation against child exploitation, that lasted for a year in Riverside County, resulted in the arrest of 42 people and the identification of more than 500 alleged area cloth distributors of child sexual abuse.
The undercover multi-agency operation, dubbed “Operation Volcano,” was led by the Riverside County Anti-Child Exploitation Team (RCCET), with the aim of identifying and arresting people suspected of sharing the area cloth online.
A yearlong, multi-company operation led by the RCCET known more than 500 suspected distributors of tiny one sexual abuse area cloth and led to 42 arrests of high threat offenders.

In a statement, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office reported that “Operation Volcano” took place from March 2025 to March 2026 between RCCET and OUR Rescue, a non-profit organization specialized in combating child exploitation.

The prosecution said that More than 500 unique Web Protocol (IP) addresses were identifiedassociated with the distribution of child sexual abuse areas in exchange networks between users (be aware-to-be aware).
Each case was evaluated using a methodology to identify high-risk offenders, including people with a history of sexual crimes, individuals under supervision of the criminal justice system and people in positions of public trust or who work in professions related to minors.
Prosecutors said that The investigative work led to the execution of 46 residential search warrantsresulting in the arrest of 42 suspects, most of them men between the ages of 21 and 62.

“Fourteen of those arrested were identified as high-risk criminalsincluding a person with a warrant with bail set at $2 million, for child sexual assault,” the statement reads.
Those detained include a child psychologist, a naturopathic doctor, a former law enforcement employee, a California prison IT employee and a local government planning director.
There is also a director of technology for a Southern California hospital, a notary publica United States Postal Service employee, two corporate vice presidents, and three registered sex offenders.

Several agencies offered assistance, such as the Homeland Security Investigations Officethe San Diego Cyber Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Los Angeles Cyber Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the California Highway Patrol.
