The stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York saw dozens of stars parade during the May 4 evening to mark the Met Gala 2026. However, One of the most acclaimed performers of the night was Beyoncé, who returned to the event as co-chair after a decade of absence.

For this edition, The “Loopy in Take care of” singer participated as one of the figures in charge of the organization along with personalities such as Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and Anna Wintour. The chosen theme was titled “Vogue is Artwork” and was linked to the “Costume Artwork” exhibition, located in the iconic venue and focused on the relationship between fashion and the visual arts.

The public’s excitement was multiplied when they saw the singer posing with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, and her eldest daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The Grammy winner opted for a striking Olivier Rousteing design inspired by a skeleton. The dress was accompanied by a voluminous feathered cape and a headdress.

For its part, The 14-year-old girl walked the carpet in a white Balenciaga dress with a full skirt. The youthful touch was given through an open jacket and dark glasses.

Despite the excess of glamour, The presence of Blue Ivy Carter sparked a debate on social networks in which thousands of users questioned her debut at the event due to Met Gala access rules.

And according to the guidelines mentioned in May 2018, Entry to this event would be reserved for people over 18 years of age.

Proof of this is the former participant of “Dance Mothers”, Maddie Ziegler, who declared to The Hollywood Reporter that its participation in that year’s edition (under the theme of “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination”) It could not be realized because “I was not old enough.”

The media attention generated by these statements caused the organizing committee to issue a statement in which reported the executive decision that the Met Gala “is not an appropriate event for those under 18 years of age.”

Despite the questions about it, both Beyoncé and the organizing committee of the Met Gala have stayed away from commenting on the matter.
