Florida pastor arrested for bigamy after posting his new wedding on social media

A Pastor identified as Leslie Williams, 62 years oldwas arrested at his residence located in the community of The Villages, in Florida, after being accused of bigamy in the state of Georgia.

Sumter County authorities confirmed that the man was detained without bail and classified as an interstate fugitive, pending extradition, according to the Day by day Mail.

Origin of research and publication on networks

The case originated in the state of Georgia, where a Rockdale County court issued an arrest warrant against him.

According to the police report, the investigation intensified after the accused updated his marital status on social networks and published images celebrating an alleged new marriage with a woman identified as “Cindy.”

Sheriff’s deputies went to his home in the Girl Lake area to execute the warrant. When they initially did not find him in the house, they later located him during a traffic alert in the vicinity, proceeding to his arrest.

Authorities indicated that the defendant will be extradited to face charges in the state of origin of the warrant.

Williams runs a religious ministry called Leslie Williams Ministries.which presents itself as an entity dedicated to the spiritual preparation of its followers.

The pastor maintained an active presence on social networks, where he shared religious messages and publications related to his private life.

The arrest occurred in The Villages, a sprawling residential community known for its high concentration of older adults and active social life.

The authorities of both states continue to coordinate the extradition process. The accused remains in custody while the legal proceedings progress.
