“Iran just announced that the strait is completely open and ready for free movement. Thank you!” Trump wrote on his social network, in a brief but significant message amid the geopolitical tension between Washington and Tehran.
According to reports, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open to all merchant ships during the remainder of the ceasefire agreed between both countries.

This announcement comes in a context of fragile truce between the United States and Iran, the term of which is scheduled to end next Tuesday. Over recent months, tensions have escalated over disagreements over security and foreign policy, increasing the risk of disruptions on key routes.
Trump’s message, which has a conciliatory tone, did not come alone. Minutes after his thanks, he announced that your country will maintain the naval blockade on Iran until there is an agreement with the Islamic Republic.
