The wave of violence in the municipality of Chilapa, Guerrero, has caused the displacement of hundreds of indigenous families, who launched a call for help in the face of attacks by the criminal group “The Ardillos”.
In a video broadcast on social networks, a group of women appears with their faces covered for fear of reprisals while asking the United States government for help, arguing that President Claudia Sheinbaum does not address the situation.
“Donald Trump, help us, send the helicopters to save us. “We are already surrounded,” one of the women is heard saying.
“We want support from the United States Government because President Claudia Sheinbaum does not pay attention to us, she does not want to send us support, we are refugees, indigenous peoples, the children are suffering, we don’t eat”he says in another part of the recording.
They also reported that members of the criminal group cut off the electricity supply in some areas where several families remained sheltered, which forced many people to go into the hills to try to protect themselves.
The women explained that they decided to cover their faces because they fear reprisals if they are identified. “If they look at us out there, they are going to catch us and torture us“They are going to tear us to pieces,” they said.
This Tuesday was the sixth day of consecutive attacks by “Los Ardillos” with firearms and explosives launched with drones.
According to Mexican media such as the newspaper La Jornada, on this occasion they focused their attacks on the community of Alcozocán, where most of the 800 displaced people were taking refuge.
