A Hispanic father was shot dead while celebrating his 26th birthday in the company of his family at a pizzeria in the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Andrés Castellas enjoyed the afternoon of Saturday, May 9 of his birthday celebration at Purple West Pizza, in the Los Angeles neighborhood, when he tried to stop a fight that arose between two women.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) and his family, Castellas tried to calm the dispute between the two women when he was shot by a subject who fled on foot.

“They robbed us of someone. They took someone’s father and sonand I just don’t understand why,” declared María Rondan, Andrés Castellas’ girlfriend, in an interview with the ABC network.
Castellas’ daughter, Michelle Costa, described her father as a peaceful person who detested any type of violence.

According to his relatives, The Hispanic father moved from Colombia to California about three years ago to support his 5-year-old daughter.
“Technology a very happy person, skills one of those guys that walks into a room and makes you feel specialeven when you don’t consider yourself that way,” Rondan mentioned.
Michelle Costa expressed that her family and friends They want to honor the memory of Andrés.

During the incident, A Wilmington pizzeria worker, a man in his 20s, was also shotso he was transferred to a sanatorium to receive medical attention for the injury, which is not life-threatening.
