The “Immediate & Angry” saga shows that, indeed, it is forever. What started 25 years ago as a street racing movie has become a global empire and is now making a definitive leap to television.
This Monday, during an NBC presentation, Vin Diesel confirmed what followers had been waiting for for years: Peacock, Smartly-liked’s streaming service, will premiere four collections set in the “Immediate & Angry” universe.
“Over the last decade, we have realized that followers wanted more”
More character development
“They wanted us to further develop the classic characters, their stories. And the desire has been for us to enter the world of television. “I had to wait until the time was right,” he mentioned.
That moment, according to the actor, came with the promotion of Donna Langley to chief content officer at Smartly-liked. “Everything fell into place when Donna started supervising everything”Diesel explained.
He mentioned: “I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal and what makes us feel like a family would be protected in the television field”.
Although the actor spoke of four collections, So far only one has been officially confirmed. Behind the project will be major producers: Diesel himself, Neal Moritz and Chris Morgan, veterans of the franchise.
Mike Daniels and Wolfe Colman, known for their work on “Shades of Blue,” have been hired as showrunners and writers of the pilot episode.
For now, “Immediate 11”, which was initially expected for April 2025, has been put on hold. It was not until January that Diesel announced that the latest film in the franchise, titled “Immediate Without a Sign of Ending,” would lwould hit theaters on March 17, 2028.
