The beauty queen Fatima Bosch has come out to put a stop to rumors of rivalry with Lupita Jones already deny those who accuse her of minimizing the legacy of the Mexican women who have been crowned as Miss Universe in previous editions.
In a meeting with the press during her arrival in Mexico City, the real Miss Universe addressed questions about the statements she issued regarding beauty pageants, which caused the disagreement of Lupita Jones, winner of the contest in 1991.
According to her testimony, her intention was not to discredit the value of these contests, but to invite women to find their own purpose beyond the superficial.
“What I was referring to at that time was the question they asked me. As a woman, don’t just look for a beauty contest to give you a forum, look for what you feel good about.“, she stressed. “Don’t enter a beauty pageant just because you are pretty; Go for a greater purpose, for something that goes deeper. “That’s what I was referring to.”
In addition to reiterating her position on beauty pageants, Fátima Bosch discredited those who take her statements out of context: “I understand that in this environment, many people tend to take things out of context for leisure. I understand that it is part of the environment in which we move, but in the end I don’t care, because one only has power in what one says, not in how other people interpret it.“said the 25-year-old girl.
