At least twelve people died this Sunday in a plane crash in the city of Butlerin Missouri (United States), as reported by the state Highway Patrol (MSHP) in its X profile.
MSHP officers are at the scene of the crash – near Butler Memorial Airport on Industry Interstate 49 – assisting the Butler Police Department and the Bates County Sheriff’s Office.
“At this time, reports indicate that all occupants (12 in total) have died.“, wrote the patrol.
The plane, carrying several skydivers from the Skydive Kansas Metropolis free fall center, had just taken off but was unable to gain altitude, turned left and finally crashed around 11:30 a.m. local time, Dennis Jacobs, the airport’s acting manager, told NBC News.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it is gathering information and announced that he would possibly initiate an investigation into the matter.
For now, authorities have not released any further details about the accident. EFE
