Actor Alfonso Herrera is giving something to talk about with the launch of his new program, “Encounters without borders”, a space that promises intimate and revealing conversations with figures from the entertainment industry. And for its long-awaited first broadcast, Herrera could not have chosen a more significant guest: her former RBD partner, the singer and actress Anahí.

What seemed like a nostalgic reunion full of good memories became the center of attention of the followers, as both openly addressed one of the most painful issues for the band’s followers: Alfonso’s refusal to join the group’s comeback tour.

“I got angry because the man didn’t want to come”

During the conversation, Anahí confessed that there was a fight between them precisely because of Poncho Herrera’s decision not to participate in the reunion tour.one of the most anticipated by the public who grew up with the soap opera Rebelde and the music of RBD.

“Last time we did fight because the man didn’t want to come, so I got angry.”

However, he acknowledged that his former partner was always clear and consistent with his decision. “I understand perfectly and you have told me many times. You closed that stage there and You have also been very consistent with what you have said, with what you have done, with how you have led your career and I admire that very much.”he added.

“RBD taught me to go for my dreams”

To understand Alfonso Herrera’s position, you have to go back to the years after RBD’s massive success. After years of exhausting touring, recording, and overwhelming media exposure, Herrera reached a point where he decided not to continue because he felt overwhelmed. The actor chose to concentrate completely on acting, his true passion, and definitively move away from the musical stages.

While the rest of the members, Anahí, Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Christian Chávez and Christopher Uckermann, returned to the stage as a group, Alfonso Herrera was the only exception. Since the group officially ended, the actor decided to put his foot down through music and focusing on projects like “Sense8”, “El Che” and “Ozark”.

Given Anahí’s words, Alfonso Herrera recalled that something traditional that RBD left him was the lesson of pursuing one’s dreams without fear.. “At the end, Rebelde and RBD were talking about going for your dreams and I think everyone did,” said the actor.

Anahí, for her part, admitted that, although she understood his position, the feeling of missing him during the tour was inevitable. “We made thousands believe in their dreams, but well, I missed you and I got angry. I missed you and wanted you to come, but obviously understanding. Later, thank God, everything falls into place and today we are happy again,” he concluded with smiles.
