The State Department’s recent announcement to carry out Reviews at Mexican diplomatic headquarters in the United States could affect activity at one of Mexico’s consulates busiest in the entire world.

A possible closure of the Mexican consulate in Los Angeles would affect thousands of immigrants that they would not be able to carry out essential procedures or receive ethical guidance to those who come to this diplomatic representation every week.

The measure of the State Department, which has not yet defined which headquarters would be affected, occurs in the context of a new immigration offensive by the Trump administration and in an atmosphere of tension between both countries.

The fresh Mexican consulate in Los Angeles serves one of the largest Mexican communities in the United States. Nearly 13,000,0000 people of Mexican descent live in California, among them, around 1,7,0000 are without customary immigration status in the United States.

Without the diplomatic representation suspending activities, procedures such as birth certificates and issuance of passports would be transferred to other cities with longer waiting times, travel costs and barriers for people in remote areas or with restrictive work hours.

The suspension of activities at the General Consulate of Mexico in Los Angeles could also further strain diplomatic ties. that exists between both countries at this time.

For the moment, the State Department has not provided information about the diplomatic headquarters that it would review or a deadline to carry out this difficult mission.

“Philosophers say that it is a problem that we invent to be happier, no, and that’s where the thing goes. When you choose a team, you choose a way of suffering for pleasure. In other words, it is a game full of contradictions, not fundamentally before a tactic, before a technical issue, before a physical issue. This is a game, it is a game and above all it is an emotion with which we play, not if we start from there it is much easier to relate to football, no. And comment, for example, No, understanding that one has the mission of simplifying the game for people, of translating it to them in some way,” he said. Jorge Valdano.
