Rubén Gallego, senator from Arizona, points out the Republicans for allegedly trying to involve the United States in another war, this time against Cuba.
Although during his campaign Donald Trump promised to keep the Washington government away from war conflicts, since returning to the White House he has added two military operations with the aim of overthrowing the leaders of countries that, in his view, posed a threat to American security.
In mid-June, the seventy-nine-year-old Republican ordered an intense bombing of Iran under the argument of stopping uranium enrichment carried out by Iran to allegedly develop nuclear weapons.
Later, at the beginning of this year, Trump launched a US army operation that required just two hours to overthrow Nicolás Maduro from the presidency of Venezuela and thus gained access to the oil reserves of the Bolivarian Republic.
Motivated by the success of his strategy, on February 28 he declared war on Iran and, for weeks, he did not stop bombing the Islamic Republic without imagining that, in response, the Tehran government would block the Strait of Hormuz, detonating one of the largest energy crises recorded in modern times and still developing with no possible solution in sight.
Despite having an open battle front in the Middle East, the Trump administration’s next objective seems to be directed towards Cuba, where it has already moved an aircraft carrier.
Although the seventy-nine-year-old New Yorker considers it an obligation to free the island from a military regime, Democrat Rubén Gallego considers that this is an easy pretext to attack the Caribbean island.
“We are seeing how Republicans fabricate before our very eyes a reason for another war of regime change, this time in Cuba”he wrote on platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
Immediately afterwards, the former marine who participated in some missions carried out during the Iraq war ranted against conservatives who support new military interventions.
“I was sent to fight abroad with other working class kids, because of those same warmongers in Washington. We must say no to more endless wars,” he said.
