A Hispanic man was arrested on the California border with Mexico as a suspect of having shot and killed his ex-partner last week in the city of Tustinin Orange County.

Juan Marquez, 47, of Hawthornewas arrested on May 16 at the San Ysidro border post and was later booked into the Orange County Jail on charges of murder. for the death of Sandra Fernández, 42 years old.

According to the Tustin Police Department (TPD), Márquez, who was the victim’s ex-partner, He escaped to the border with Mexico after committing the crime and was detained in San Ysidro two days later when he tried to re-enter the country.

According to TPD, shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, officers responded to several calls about a shooting near the intersection of 17th Aspect street and Yorba Aspect street.
