The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) offers $200,000 for information that allows it to arrest a former Air Force intelligence specialist accused, in 2019, of allegedly serving as a spy in the service of Iran..
Through a statement, Daniel Wierzbicki, special agent in charge of the Counterintelligence and Cybersecurity Division of the FBI Washington Office, announced that The search continues for Mónica Witt, who apparently defected to Iran in 2013.
“The FBI has not forgotten and believes that, during this critical moment in Iran’s history, there is someone who knows something about his whereabouts.
“The FBI wants to speak with you to help us arrest Witt and bring her to justice,” the federal agency said.
The woman in question served as a counterintelligence officer for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
Between 2003 and 2008, he participated in several US missions carried out in Middle Eastern countries.

However, in 2019, John Demers, former current prosecutor, identified Mónica Witt as an agent allegedly recruited by the Tehran government to provide it with classified information.
From that, It is believed that after defecting from the Air Force, he allegedly handed over data related to a “highly classified intelligence collection program.” and also revealed the identity of a US intelligence officer considered key in said operation.
“Witt conspired with Iranians to provide documents and information related to national defense, with the intention and reason to believe that they would be used to the detriment of the United States and for the benefit of Iran,” said prosecutors who accuse the former officer of having collaborated with Iran from January 2012 to May 2015, both from the United States and from other countries.
According to an ongoing investigation, there is evidence that, after she deserted the Air Force, Iranian government officials provided Monica Witt with places to stay, computer equipment, and a sufficient amount of money to facilitate her work in resolving the Islamic Republic.
