Florida financial magnate Kenneth Cordele Griffin projects howthrough the midterm elections to be held in November,Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives.

During an interview given to the program “The Commerce”, which is broadcast by the television channel CNBC, The hedge fund creator was inclined to support the trend of results in previous electoral processes, where citizens generally end up giving their vote to the disadvantaged party in midterm elections.

Democrats will almost certainly take the House of Representatives. That is the tone of almost all midterm electoral cycles“The seats in the House are tilted in favor of the opposition party,” he mentioned.

Regarding the Senate, Griffin assures that conservatives will continue to be the majority, But before the end of the year, the fight to approve bills and presidential initiatives will be tighter.

“It is almost certain that the Republicans will maintain control of the Senate, but that will be the political battleground in this election cycle,” he stressed.

For now, The Republican Party maintains a narrow 217-212 lead in the House of Representativesbut in certain cases, when putting a project to a vote, some of its members have turned their backs, supporting the Democrats.

To this must be added that, in the four of the last five midterm elections, control of the House of Representatives has fallen to the party that assumes the role of minority, since from the perspective it is considered appropriate to exercise a counterweight in the decision making of the federal administration in turn.

Heading into the November elections, there are five vacancies in the upper house, three of them occupied by Democrats and two by Republicans.

Regarding the Senate, Republicans have a 53 to 47 advantage. So, to turn the situation around, they need to take four of the 22 seats currently in their power from their opponents.
