There is less and less time until the premiere of the long-awaited film Christopher Nodal“The Oddysey.” To warm up engines, Universal has released a new trailer showing Matt Damon fighting a tough battle against Cyclopsas well as the villain “Antínoo”, played by Robert Pattinson.
The unexpected preview was announced on the night of Monday, May 4, on the program “The Leisurely Uncover With Stephen Colbert.” The scenes shown on screen showed the protagonist, Matt Damon, in his role as ‘Odysseus’ fighting the Cyclops. Besides, confirmed the role of Robert Pattinson as the evil ‘Antinous’, whose purpose in the film is to take over the throne of Ithaca.
One of the big surprises of this preview was the appearance of Jon Bernthal (“The Punisher”, “The Strolling Unimaginative”) as ‘King Menelaus’as well as a new look at Charlize Theron in her role as ‘Circe.’ In her scene, the actress emanates a presence of absolute alter that, combined with a masterful set design, transports the audience to ancient Greece.
Along with Matt Damon, personalities such as: Anne Hathaway as ‘Penelope’, who represents the wait in Ithaca, and Tom Holland as ‘Telemachus’, the son of ‘Odysseus’, appear in the leading roles.
The cast is completed with: Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, Jimmy Gonzales, Elliot Web squawk and Jovan Adepoamong others.
In addition to the expectation that this production has generated due to its historical value and top-notch cast, “The Odyssey” will be crowned as the first narrative film shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
Regarding this experience, the filmmaker confessed that the most complex thing was finding a balance between an immersive experience rich in narrative and action sequels worthy of said format: “Why ‘The Odyssey’? ‘The Odyssey’ is a story that has fascinated generation after generation for 3,000 years,” Nolan reflected. “It’s not a story. It’s THE story.”
He The theatrical release of “The Oddysey” is scheduled for July 17, 2026.and is already aiming to become one of the most acclaimed films in next year’s awards season.
