The actress and director Olivia Wilde, 42, showed her sense of humor after a photo of him went viral. The image, captured during an interview with SFGATE on the red carpet of the 2026 San Francisco International Film Pageant, generated comments online about its haggard appearance.
Through social networks, Internet users wondered if he had taken any medication to lose weight or if he was having a bad time in his life.
After the commotion, the Everyday Mail newspaper stated that the change was due to the aftermath of her breakup with singer Harry Styleswho a few days ago got engaged to actress Zoë Kravitz.
What was Wilde’s response?
Far from taking it the wrong way, Wilde responded ingeniously. In a video posted on Sunday, May 3, on her Instagram account, her brother, Charles Cockburn, asks her directly: “Olivia Wilde, Would you mind addressing the recent rumors that you are a resurrected corpse?“
The clip even included a comparative photo with the character Gollum, from “The Lord of the Rings.” Laughing, the actress explained: “It’s a fisheye lens. And I’ll admit, is that my best angle? No, it’s an amazing image.”
And he added:
“I don’t know why I was so close to the camera. I didn’t have to be. That’s not true. I’m not dead.”
In this way, the actress decided to put an end to this discussion about her physical appearance.
