Actress Charlize Theron, Oscar winner for “Monster” and star of “Excited Max: Fury Avenue,” is very clear that Fame and fortune will not be an obstacle for his daughters, Jackson, 14, and August, 11, Learn the value of effort and responsibility.
In a recent conversation with host Jake Shane of the “Therapuss” podcast, Theron bluntly shared her parenting philosophy.
Theron was blunt when talking about her daughters’ first car. Far from giving them luxury vehicles, the actress is clear that they will start from the bottom:
“For starters, your first car is going to be a Datsun, because you’re going to crash it. You’re going to mess it up somehow. You’re a new driver. So we’re not going to buy you a luxury car. We need a little experience, and we’re going to earn it.”

When Shane asked her if her daughters would have to worry about getting summer jobs in their teens, the actress did not hesitate to confirm it with a mix of humor and firmness:
“Yes. Every time we go to Starbucks, I think, ‘Look at this… See how nice they are?’ You have to be this nice every morning at 6am. Start preparing’“he joked.
Beyond the anecdote, Theron made clear her intention to instill self-sufficiency from an early age:
“It’s too early to know what’s going to happen to them. They just need to find a job that gives them a salary, because I don’t want to have to support them for the rest of their lives.”
Charlize Theron adopted Jackson in 2012 and August in 2015and has always been open about her decision to raise them as a single mother. In a previous interview with Alex Cooper of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, he called that decision “one of the wisest I’ve ever made.”
The actress, of South African origin and naturalized American, passionately defends her lifestyle and upbringing:
“With women, it’s always like something is wrong with them… I look at them and think, ‘Do you know how amazing it is to live exactly how I want to live, experience motherhood exactly how you wanted to experience it?‘”
Theron, who is currently 40 years old, confessed that she enjoys the freedom of not having to share her daughters with anyone.
