Fashion and cinema merged again with the premiere of the long-awaited sequel The Devil Wears Prada 2. However, for its protagonist, Anne Hathawayreturning to the big screen as Andy Sachs had a bittersweet taste.
The Oscar winner recently revealed to Of Us magazine that her favorite outfit from the entire movie didn’t make it through the editing process.
During the European premiere of the film, Hathaway confessed that She felt “heartbroken” to learn that he observedwhich she herself had described as her favorite in previous interviews, was eliminated.
It is a set composed of a minimalist style white t-shirt – with a flowing tail detail – designed under the Phoebe Philo aesthetic, combined with white shorts, black sunglasses and high-impact accessories.
“Technology is more than a garment, technology is a style statement. I loved it,” declared the actress.
Hathaway recalled the moment she received the news: “The director, David Frankel, called me before I saw the movie and said, ‘He’s gone.’ It was a blow, but at least I am consoled that the paparazzi captured us in the New York dwelling and the fans were able to see it in some way.”
The deleted scene showed an evolved Andy Sachs. In this sequel, set 20 years after fashioned, Andy no longer seeks to please her boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), but projects herself as a confident investigative journalist..
Despite the omission, the film remains a visual feast for fashion lovers, cementing Hathaway’s status as a style icon both in and out of fiction.
