The Congress of the state of Sinaloa approved the governor’s license request Ruben Rocha Moya and appointed Yeraldine Bonilla Valverde as interim governor, who will assume office temporarily while the president leaves his duties.

The license granted to Rocha Moya is for a period of more than 30 days, which allowed the Legislative Branch to appoint an interim head of the state Executive in accordance with the local constitutional framework.

Bonilla Valverde, who served as general secretary of the Government, was ratified by the state Congress and becomes the first woman to occupy the governorship of Sinaloaeven if it is provisional.

According to the newspaper El Financiero, the appointment was made in an extraordinary session, after legislators analyzed and approved the request for removal from office presented by Rocha Moya.

The new interim governor will remain in office for the duration of the leave of the head of the Executive, in a political context marked by the need to provide continuity to the state administration.

After taking office as interim Governor, Bonilla Valverde thanked the legislators for her appointment and expressed his solidarity with Rocha Moyawho in his license application assured that the US accusations against him are false and malicious, which when the time comes “he will firmly demonstrate.”

“Governor, the vast majority of the people of Sinaloa know this and we are sure that this will be the case. I express my deep solidarity,” he stated.

Previously, Bonilla Valverde He had indicated on social networks that the accusation against Rubén Rocha was unfounded and lacked veracity..

“I clearly point out that the accusations against him are unfounded, lack veracity and do not contribute to institutional stability,” he wrote.
