A woman identified as Jessica Hilliard, 34, died after being shot multiple times in the parking lot of a bar in Parks Township, Pennsylvaniaafter trying to intervene in an attack against a young woman.
The incident occurred early Saturday morning outside Niki’s Hasty Six establishment, according to Motion News 4.
Relief attempt that ended in tragedy
According to family members and authorities, Hilliard left the premises with other people after learning that a woman had previously been attacked by a man.
Upon arriving at the parking lot, they attempted to mediate the situation. However, The alleged attacker pulled out a firearm and opened fire on the group.
The victim received multiple impacts to the chest, which caused his death.
Suspect arrested and charges
The attacker was identified as David Dunmire, 36, who was arrested at the scene.
Authorities said he faces at least 16 charges, including four counts of manslaughter, in connection with the attack.
Security footage captured the moment the suspect allegedly fired repeatedly into the crowd as he tried to flee.
In addition to Hilliard, three other people — two men and a woman — were injured in the shooting. So far no details about his health have been released.

Family members described the victim as a caring person and willing to help others regardless of the circumstances.
“She died like a heroine”expressed those close to him to the media, who highlighted that he always intervened to protect those who needed it.
The authorities continue to investigate the facts to fully clarify the sequence of the attack and determine criminal responsibilities.
