The Liga MX turned on the countdown to Closing League 2026 by making official dates and times of the quarterfinalsone of the most anticipated phases of Mexican soccer.
Through a statement, the organization confirmed not only the complete calendar, but also important adjustments such as the change of venue in the series of Blue Cross vs. Atlasin addition to unusual programming to avoid conflicts with the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Dates and format of the Liga MX quarterfinals
The Closing League 2026 will be played on consecutive weekends:
- Going: Saturday May 2 and Sunday May 3
- Lap: Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10
Unlike other editions, there will be no matches during the week, due to the participation of Tigers and Toluca in the semifinals of the Concacaf tournament.

Pumas vs. America
- First leg (Banorte Stadium): Sunday, May 3 – 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT
- Return (University Olympic Stadium): Sunday, May 10 – 9:15 pm ET / 6:15 pm PT
Chivas vs. Tigers
- First leg (University Stadium): Saturday, May 2 – 9 pm ET / 6 pm PT
- Return (Akron Stadium): Saturday, May 9 – 9:07 pm ET / 6:07 pm PT
Blue Cross vs. Atlas
- First leg (Jalisco Stadium): Saturday, May 2 – 11:15 pm ET / 8:15 pm PT
- Return (Banorte Stadium): Saturday, May 9 – 11:15 pm ET / 8:15 pm PT
Note: The second leg will be played in Banorte Stadiumand not in Cuauhtémoc as in previous tournaments.
Pachuca vs. Toluca
- First leg (Nemesio Diez Stadium): Sunday, May 3 – 9:15 pm ET / 6:15 pm PT
- Return (Hidalgo Stadium): Sunday, May 10 – 7 pm ET / 4 pm PT
Context: this is how the teams get to the Liguilla
The sports scene also adds intensity to the crossings:
- Cougars He finished as the overall leader after a tournament in which he only lost once (against Toluca).
- America They advanced as 8th, but dominate the history against Pumas in Liguilla.
- Chivas and Tigres (2 and 7 in the table) they star in a recent rivalry with finals included.
- Blue Cross and Atlas (3 and 6) have pending accounts in final phases.
- Toluca part with historical advantage over Pachuca (4 and 5).
The most media duel will be Pumas vs. Americaa series with a long history where the Águilas have won five of seven playoffs, although this time Pumas looks like a favorite by adding the most points (36), being the highest scoring team (34) and having the best goal difference in the tournament (17).
