According to the police investigation in Boulder Metropolis, The alleged abuse began in 2023, when the victim was between 14 and 15 years old.

Among the charges he faces are: sexual assault against a minor under 16 years of age, sexual seduction of a minor, child abuse, and lewd acts with a minor.

The defendant worked at Cimarron-Memorial High Schoolalthough school authorities clarified that the accusations do not involve students from that institution.

Likewise, it was reported that the teacher obtained his license in 2012 and had worked in several educational centers in the state.

In 2016, Trinkle received national recognition as an outstanding teacher in special education, being described at the time as a professional committed to the academic development of his students.
