Authorities of the state of Nuevo León announced that 17 reports of school shooting threats have been attended to in recent days in educational institutions of the entity.

All of these alerts occur days after the recent attack in the archaeological zone of Teotihuacán, which left a Canadian tourist murdered, as well as the death of the attacker himself.

These threats have been presented through messages written on the walls of the educational establishments themselves.

According to the Customary Prosecutor’s Office of Justice of the state of Nuevo León, the authorities have gone to 17 primary, secondary and upper secondary schools, located in the cities of Monterrey, Juárez, San Nicolás de los Garza, García, Guadalupe, Pesquería, Santa Catarina and Linares.

Given the reports received at 911, agents from the State Investigation Agency (AEI) and Strategic Deployment Units have been transferred to the campuses with the support of canines.

In each of the inspections, an exhaustive review of the facilities, perimeters and areas indicated in the threatening messages has been carried out; However, at the moment no dangerous devices, real threats or suspicious people have been detected with illegal objects.

Just on March 24, two teachers were murdered inside the Anton Makarenko High School, in the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, Michoacán, by one of their students.

The attacker, a 15-year-old student, killed María del Rosario Sagrero Chávez and Tatiana Madrigal Bedoya with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.

In Nuevo León, on January 18, 2017, a student from Colegio Americano del Noreste shot his teacher and wounded three of his classmates before taking his own life, in an unprecedented case in the country.
