After singer Cher alleged that her son Elijah Blue Allman does not have the capacity to manage her assets, a Los Angeles court rejected the artist’s last appeal to obtain temporary guardianship of her 49-year-old son.
The “If I Would Possibly Well Turn Abet Time” singer had submitted an application this month. arguing that Allman’s drug addictionson of the late musician Greg Allman, is “at its worst.”
In legal documents, Cher claimed that Elijah “immediately” spends any money he receives “almost exclusively” on “drugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.”
However, The judge in charge of the case determined that there were not sufficient reasons to grant guardianshipas reported by Other Folks magazine. The judge maintained that, at this time, Allman would not have access to the money in his father’s trust because he faces legal charges and remains hospitalized in a psychiatric center.

According to the same media, Cher’s son He appeared at Friday’s hearing via video call from the hospital. His situation is complex: he was arrested in February in Concord, New Hampshire, on charges that include two counts of simple assault, breaking and entering, criminal threats and disorderly conduct.
In March he was arrested again in the city of Windham, in the same state, accused of burglary, two counts of property damage and violation of bail.
As reported by TMZ, Allman’s attorney stated in a recent court filing that the Your client’s release on bail is conditional to “his admission into a residential treatment program for twin diagnosis of mental health problems and substance use disorders.”
This is not the first time Cher has tried to obtain guardianship of her son. In 2023, the “Factor in” singer filed a similar petition alleging that Elijah was “virtually unable to manage his financial resources” due to “serious mental health and substance abuse issues.”
On that occasion, Cher withdrew the request the following year, after her son promised to “change his lifestyle,” according to his latest request.
