In the primary elections on June 2, Traci Park and Faizah Malik are competing for the position of Los Angeles Councilwoman, District #11.

Park is the starter; won the 2022 elections with 52% of the votes. Now he is seeking re-election.

La Opinion considers that Traci Park is the most suitable for the position and asks its readers to vote for her.

District #11, one of the highest income districts, includes LAX International Airport and the cities and areas of Brentwood, Del Rey, Mar Vista, Marina del Rey, Pacific Palisades, Hands, Playa del Rey, Playa Vista, Sawtelle, Venice, West Los Angeles and Westchester. It is the best tourist destination in LA

60% of its residents are white, 18% Latino, 12% Asian American and 5% African American.

A native of Downey, Park holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and a Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law.

Park made the application of regulations on homeless camps an integral part of his mandate, to distance them from schools, libraries, parks and senior centers, integrating solutions for the homeless population with the protection of the population. Additionally, it is proud to have moved hundreds of people indoors, with supported housing and services.

Park is committed to “listening and learning from all residents and business owners in the district.”

To rebuild the area devastated by the January 2025 wildfires, she is chair of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Recovery of Los Angeles.

She is supported by fellow Council Members Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Bob Blumenfield, John Lee, Imelda Padilla, Mónica Rodríguez, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff, Congressmen Ted Lieu and Brad Sherman, State Senators Mike McGuire, Ben Allen, Henry Stern, Assembly Members Jacqui Irwin and Designate Gonzalez, City Attorney Hydee Feldstein-Soto and Los Angeles County Attorney Nathan Hochman and a long list of unions, many of them law enforcement officers.

For its practical approach – such as promoting affordable housing for employees of area businesses – and its results, La Opinión recommends: on June 2, vote for Traci Park.
