During the morning press conference this Friday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumonce again took up the case of the two CIA agents who died in Chihuahua.
“The central issue is the presence of foreign agents in an operation in a state of the Republic without having requested the permits established by the Constitution and the National Security Law,” said the president.
“In that, everyone should be very firm, because There is something that is not negotiated: it is called sovereignty and principles“, he pointed out.
Although Sheinbaum made it clear that there is coordination and collaboration with the United States government, the principles established in the Magna Carta must be adhered to.
“Sovereignty is not negotiated. We collaborate, we coordinate, but within the framework of our laws”he declared.
Furthermore, he added that it is not about dismissing the work of the Government of Chihuahua in terms of security, but rather clarifying the situation of foreign agents who were in Mexican territory without permission or notice.
“All governors, all municipal presidents who want to have a relationship with a foreign government have to comply with the law no matter what because sovereignty is not negotiated. It is our principle and I am sure that the people of Mexico are with that,” she stated.
Finally, he indicated that The defense of sovereignty “has cost the people of Mexico blood”. “The defense of the Homeland has marked us since independence, so interference is something that no Mexican should allow, and the defense of sovereignty is something that is in our Constitution, but it runs through our veins and that is how it should be,” he expressed.
