President Donald Trump announced an agreement with the biotechnology company Regeneron Prescription tablets through which the price of medicines will be reduced for the benefit of millions of American families.
In exchange for a three-year exemption from tariffs on drug imports and other incentives, the company based in Westchester County, New York, made the commitment to lower the prices of the medications that it currently and in the future contemplates selling to Medicaid.
Under this approach, it will offer its cholesterol drug, Praluent, on the TrumpRx.gov website.
In this way, the company founded in 1988 joined 16 others with which the federal government was interested in closing agreements to make medicines more accessible and thus alleviate the complex economic situation that has been experienced in the United States for several months even before declaring war on Iran.

“I am pleased to announce that one of the most respected pharmaceutical companies in the world, frankly, I know them very well, is Regeneron, and they have agreed to offer their prescription drugs at most favored nation prices with deep discounts,” the nation’s head said in the Oval Office.
It should be noted thatTrump-negotiated drug discounts can only apply to Medicaid patientssince those who have private insurance or benefit from the Medicare program will not be able to pay less for their medications.
The strategy implemented from Washington consists of convincing voters ahead of the midterm elections that Republicans are finding solutions for citizens’ priority problems, such as health.
At this point, the most important thing is to demonstrate that essential goods and services such as housing, education or health can be paid for, but without compromising the economic stability of millions of families.
Various analysts agree that the agreements established by pharmaceutical companies with the Trump administration will not fully impact their finances, since the volume of their profit margins will tend to be greater when the drugs they manufacture are promoted on the platform created by the government to offer discounted products, but making it clear that they will have the same effectiveness with respect to those available on the private pharmaceutical market.
