The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner released this Wednesday the report on the official cause of death of Celeste Rivas Hernández, 15, seven months after her body was discovered in the trunk of a Tesla registered in the name of the singer D4vd.
In a statement, forensic experts determined that the Hispanic teenager died from multiple penetrating injuries caused by one or more objectsso the death was ruled a homicide.
“After several months, I am pleased that this information can finally be made publicnot only for the public in same old, but also for the grieving family suffering from this loss,” stated Los Angeles County Chief Coroner Dr. Odey Ukpo.

The authorities reported that Celeste’s body was found at approximately 11:00 am on September 8, 2025inside the front trunk of a car at a towed vehicle yard in Los Angeles.
Two days later an examination was carried out, and the coroner said that The cause and manner of death would be determined in December 2025but a court order prevented the results from being released previously.
“It is inconceivable that they had to wait so long to find out what happened to his daughter,” said Dr. Ukpo.

“The transparency of the information contained in our findings and reports is essential to empower the community and allow them to make informed changes that effectively reduce fear and allow them to make informed decisions,” the coroner added.
The person in charge mentioned that making the department’s information public is not just about accountability, but also social justice and prevention.
“By ensuring access to this information, we strengthen our ability to learn, act and, ultimately preventing the next tragic loss of life“said Dr. Ukpo.

The publication of the forensic results coincides with the progress of the case of the death of Celeste Rivas, after the accusation presented this Monday against the singer D4vdwith murder charges.
D4vd, 21 years old and whose real name is David Anthony Burke, He was charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office with one count of first-degree murder.alleging that he invited Celeste to his Hollywood Hills residence in April 2025, where she was last seen.

“Celeste was just a girl, under 14 years old, when David Burke allegedly engaged in obscene and lascivious sexual relations with her on repeated occasions“Declared Los Angeles County Prosecutor Nathan Hochman this Monday at a press conference.
“But Burke’s actions didn’t stop there. When she threatened to reveal his criminal conduct and ruin his music career, Burke allegedly murdered her.dismembered his body and put it in two bags that he placed in the front trunk of his car,” the prosecutor added.
Burke had his first court appearance this Monday, in which he pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is scheduled to return to court this Thursday, April 23, in Los Angeles.
