The United States embassy in Mexico reported that the Immigration Enforcement and Deportation Operations (ICE ERO) office in Los Angeles deported to Mexican territory Uriel Ríos-Muñoz31, whom he identified as a person with a previous conviction for transporting undocumented people for profit.
Through social networks, US authorities affirmed that Ríos-Muñoz claimed to be an affiliate of the Sinaloa Cartel and that he had crossed the border irregularly on multiple occasions since 2011.
Until now, the US authorities have not disclosed in these publications additional details about the exact place of delivery, the procedure followed in Mexico or judicial documents of the case.
Meanwhile, the Mexican authorities did not issue a public position on this particular file either.

The case occurs at a time of tightening of US immigration and security policywhile ICE noted that ERO coordinates detentions and removal operations of aliens subject to deportation, including actions with international partners.
Additionally, the United States Government announced this week visa restrictions for 75 people linked to the Sinaloa Cartelas part of its pressure against drug trafficking networks in the region.
The dissemination of the case also occurs in the midst of an intellectual context in the bilateral relationship in terms of security, after recent questions in Mexico over the participation of US agents in actions against organized crime that are already being investigated by the Mexican Government, and for which the president Claudia Sheinbaum He announced that he could issue an expulsion, since joint operations in Mexican territory are prohibited.
