The Águilas del América have had many problems in Clausura 2026. In addition to being in trouble to get into the Liguilla, the azulcrema team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Concahampions. Alonso is a much more experienced coach than the one who led Monterrey in 2018. Alonso gained experiences at Inter Miami, Sevilla, Panathinaikos and the Uruguay national team.
The information explains that The leading candidate is Matías Almeyda. The former Chivas de Guadalajara coach is in the portfolio of several Liga MX clubs. “El Pelado” was dismissed from his position as coach of Sevilla in March of this year. Almeyda left a negative steadiness of 10 wins. 7 draws and 15 losses.
What is beneficial for the future of the Águilas del América is that His three current coaches are out of work..
