“Profe” Ibáñez, a TUDN reporter who was imprisoned in South Africa, would be close to returning to Mexico

If something extraordinary does not happen at the last minute, everything indicates that the Televisa reporter, Julio Ibáñez, known in the football world as the “Profe”, would be very close to returning to Mexico after the judicial arrest he suffered in South Africa while covering the “Bafana Bafana”.

According to journalistic versions, Ibáñez would be about to complete his house arrest to which he was sentenced after the South African police arrested him for having used a drone without authorization in a supposedly prohibited area.

Julio Ibáñez, a Televisa reporter who has gained notoriety in the Mexican sports media for handling information about the Aztec national team and the Águilas del América, flew a drone in a restricted area, prompting the intervention of law enforcement to arrest the journalist and detain him for quite some time.
