The senator of the National Action Party, Lilly Tellezlaunched severe accusations about the security situation in Mexico during her participation as guest of honor at the international forum Texas Protection Summit 2026, held in Austin, Texas.

In her speech, the legislator stated that the operational and military capacity deployed by criminal groups in the national territory could not be explained without the existence of alleged complicity or support on the part of political actors linked to the ruling party, Morena.

Téllez told attendees that the violence crisis has evolved towards a hybrid power structure. The senator argued that the country no longer faces ordinary organized crimebut to what he described as a direct fusion between cartel structures and institutional political power.

Despite the forcefulness of her statements, it is necessary to note that the legislator did not present documentary evidence or judicial evidence during her speech to support these statements on the Texas stand.

According to the coverage carried out by Azteca Noticias, the PAN member made an explicit call to the US administration to strengthen bilateral cooperation in security matters and adjust anti-narcotics intelligence mechanisms.

During his presentation, Téllez outlined a series of proposals that include the need to rethink the current strategy, avoid treating alleged “narco-politicians” as conventional adversaries and strengthen the exchange of information to contain the territorial expansion of criminal groups.

In another section of her speech, the senator contrasted the effervescence and logistical preparations for the 2026 Soccer World Cup with the serious humanitarian crisis faced by families of missing persons in Mexico.

Téllez stressed that, while the country prepares to receive a lot of international visitors, dozens of search mothers continue to carry out tracking tasks in conditions of extreme risk and without the effective protection of the State.

The legislator recalled that The search for a missing relative continues to be a highly dangerous activityciting the constant murders of activists and search workers at the hands of criminal groups.

The statements occur at a time of high tension in the bilateral security agenda between Mexico and the United States, marking a new episode in the debate on the strategy to combat organized crime.
