The speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohamad Baqer Qalibafstated this Friday that the United States has not yet complied with two of the conditions they accepted to begin peace negotiations in Pakistan, such as the ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets.

“There are still two of the mutually agreed measures between the parties: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets before the start of negotiations,” he said on X Qalibaf.

“These two issues must be resolved before negotiations begin,” Qalibaf said on X this Friday.

It is planned that Iran and the United States begin peace negotiations tomorrow in Pakistan, a country that acts as a mediator between the two rivals.

In fact, US Vice President JD Vance left for Islamabad today and stated that he was confident that the Peace negotiations to end the Iran war “will be positive”although he added, “we’ll see, of course.”

However, Tehran has throughout the day questioned its participation in the Israeli attacks in Lebanon that have caused more than 300 deaths.

Iran insists that the ceasefire in the Arab country is part of the agreement with the United States to begin negotiating, to which it has now added the release of its assets.

Israel, however, has shown its intention to continue attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon, despite Trump calling on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to reduce Israeli operations in the area.
