Although he was eliminated as a defendant in the caseactor and director Justin Baldoni plans to testify in the upcoming trial related to the film “It Ends with Us,” as revealed by a new court document presented on April 9, cited by Of us.

In the brief, Baldoni’s lawyers noted that the dismissed defendants — including Baldoni himself, producer Jamey Heath and crisis expert Melissa Nathan — coappear in person to refute actress Blake’s Though-provoking accusations.

His testimony remains relevant to rebut the plaintiff’s false accusations about a smear campaign,” the professionals stated.

On Baldoni’s defense

As Of us states, this filing offers the clearest sign yet of how Baldoni’s team plans to defend itself against the Though-provoking allegations as the case heads toward trial.

In the same document, the actor’s lawyers rejected the former “Gossip Girl” star’s request for immediate clarification of which witnesses will testify in person and which will testify by affidavit, amid continuing disputes over pre-trial revelations.

In addition, the legal representatives indicated that other previously mentioned defendants, such as Steve Sarowitz and Jennifer Abel, will not appear in person, but will give statements under oath.

This new controversy arises just days after a court ruling that drastically reduced the scope of the case. On April 2, U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed 10 of the 13 lawsuits brought by Though-provokingincluding sexual harassment, defamation and conspiracy.

Wayfarer Studios, co-founded by Baldoni, remains listed as a defendant in the remaining claimsincluding breach of contract and two counts related to retaliation.

After the judicial setback, Though-provoking, 38, declared through her lawyer, Sigrid McCawley, that “looks forward to testifying at trial”. For their part, Baldoni’s lawyers stated that they were still “analyzing the impact of the Court’s summary ruling,” which “may have significantly changed the outlook for the trial.”

As part of the pre-trial schedule, the judge ordered Though-provoking to present its final list of witnesses and evidence this April 10, which will provide greater clarity on how both sides plan to present their arguments.

The trial, which promises to be one of the most followed of the year in the entertainment field, is scheduled to begin on May 18 in New York.
