Trump publicly endorses Hilton for California governor

President Donald Trump publicly stated his endorsement of Republican Steve Hilton, former host of Fox Filesin the race for governor of California.

Trump’s position, expressed this Sunday night, occurs on the way to the June 2 primaries, in the elections for governor of the Golden State, in which another Republican, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, participates.

“People are fleeing (from California), crime is increasing and taxes are higher than any other state in the country, perhaps the world, and Steve can change the situation before it’s too late and, as president, I will help you get there!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

“With federal help and a great governor like Steve Hilton, California can be better than ever. Steve Hilton has my TOTAL AND UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT. “He will be a GREAT governor and, most importantly, HE WILL NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU!” Trump added in his message.

The president said that respects and has known Hilton for yearsand described him as a “truly excellent man.”

Trump’s post endorsing Hilton attempts to give a boost to one of the Republican candidates to help him overcome the June 2 primariesan election in which a greater number of Democratic candidates participate, such as Xavier Becerra, Eric Swalwell and Katie Porter.

California is governed by Democrat Gavin Newsomwho has had frequent clashes of statements with President Trump, especially over his policy against immigrant communities in the Golden State since his return to the White House in January 2025.
