Even though he himself Ryan Garcia was the subject of similar criticism during the years prior to its worldwide consecrationhis recent victory over Mario Barrios in February has allowed him to consolidate himself in the elite.

Now, from a position of greater weight in the industry, the Californian argues that the attention Ennis receives does not match what has been demonstrated in the ring to date.

Direct criticism of Jaron Ennis

In an interview for the Creators Deem podcastthe boxer was asked about which active boxer does not meet the expectations he generates.

To the surprise of many, Ryan Garcia He did not mention his historical rival Devin Haneybut instead focused on the former unified 147-pound champion. “To this day I would say ‘Boots’ Ennis. I know I said it before on a broadcast and I received some criticism”admitted the athlete.

The analysis of Ryan Garcia suggests that the promotion of Ennis as the sport’s next great figure is hasty.

“Now that he’s being promoted as if he’s the next big star, I think it’s a little premature and overrated,” He stated according to the records of the aforementioned podcast. These statements come just as Ennis prepares for important challenges in the super welterweight division.

Ryan Garcia mentioned he believes Jaron “Boots” Ennis is basically the most OVERRATED fighter correct now 👀

“I believe Jaron Boots Ennis is overrated at this point. He hasn’t carried out anything else in the sport. Nothing in opposition to him I good think he’s overrated” pic.twitter.com/V4hyeiMw57

Future at 154 pounds and possible confrontations

Jaron Ennis has just made a successful debut in the 154-pound category after knocking out United States of AmericaLima and has scheduled a unified duel against Xander Zayas at the end of June.

For its part, Ryan Garcia remains focused on the upper divisionswhich opens the possibility of a direct confrontation in the future if he decides to gain weight.

Currently, the environment of Ryan Garcia shuffles high profile optionsincluding a possible revenge against Haney. However, this new verbal exchange with Ennis adds an additional element of rivalry in the middleweight classes.

If García’s promotion to the super welterweight division is finalized, both boxers would have the opportunity to resolve these differences in sporting criteria officially in the ring.
