FDA announces recall of unusual condiment due to possible risk of salmonella

This week, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) informed American consumers of the voluntary recall of an unusual condiment from the market due to possible contamination with salmonella.

According to the statement from the health entity, The recalled product is Parmesan Ranch Seasoning from the well-known brand Blackstone Products; According to the FDA, one of the main ingredients (milk powder) supplied by a third-party manufacturer and used to make the condiment was contaminated.

The FDA detailed that the units of the products recalled from Blackstone Parmesan Ranch are the 7.3-ounce presentation with expiration dates of 07/02/2027, 08/05/2027 and 08/12/2027, and lot numbers: 2025-43282, 2025-46172 and 2026-54751, which were sold on both the brand’s web store and retailer Walmart.

So far, there have been no reported cases of people becoming ill due to the consumption of this food; however, The entity indicated that ingesting food or water contaminated with salmonella can be serious and even fatal in children, pregnant womenelderly people or people with weak immune systems.

For its part, the company suggested consumers discard the product or return it immediately to the store where they purchased it, for a refund or replacement. Customers can contact Blackstone Products at 1-888-879-4610 between 8 am and 5 pm EST, Monday through Friday.
