The high-tension political drama film directed by Frenchman Olivier Assayas and based on the novel by Italian-Swiss author Giuliano da Empoli: “The Wizard of the Kremlin”. The film in which an undercover team of elite agents is sent to recover a million-dollar sum in what for anyone would be a suicide mission: “In The Grey”. The dismay film that tells the story of “Endure”, a young man who soon realizes that some desires have a very high, dark and sinister price: “Obsession”. And the second season of the “creep-off” series from the “La Casa de Papel” universe, focused on the brilliant Berlin (Pedro Alonso): “Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine”.

The Wizard of the Kremlin

The most interesting release in theaters this week is a political fiction based on real characters. In the chaos of post-Soviet Russia, rising KGB officer Vladimir Putin (Jude Legislation) joins forces with master manipulator Vadim Baranov (Paul Dano), considered a modern-day Rasputin. The two conspire to transform life behind the Iron Curtain, using violence and deception to change the world forever. Putin and Baranov’s reign of chaos begins with lies and corruption, but quickly escalates into murder, tyranny, and, eventually, all-out war. Directed by Frenchman Olivier Assayas, who also writes the script with Emmanuel Carrère based on the 2023 novel “Le Mage du Kremlin” by Italian-Swiss author Giuliano da Empoli. The cast is completed by Alicia Vikander, Tom Sturridge, Will Concerned and Jeffrey Wright. Two and a quarter hours of high-tension political drama with sensational performances by its protagonists.

A covert team of elite agents live in the shadows of the world, as comfortable wielding power and influence as automatic weapons and high explosives. When a despot steals a billion-dollar fortune, the team is sent to recover the money on what would be a suicide mission for anyone. Written and directed by Guy Ritchie, the luxury cast includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Rosamund Pike and Carlos Bardem, among others. Premiere in cinemas.

Endure (Michael Johnston) works at a music store and is hesitant to ask Nikki (Inde Navarrette), his co-worker he likes, on a date. Instead, he makes a wish by breaking a “One Wish Willow” and gets exactly what he wanted: for her to fall madly in love with him above all else. He soon realizes that some wishes have a very high, dark and sinister price… Black humor, suspense and supernatural dismay for this movie that is now hitting theaters.

The success of “La Casa de Papel” continues to fuel creep-offs like this second season focused on the brilliant Berlin (Pedro Alonso)who together with Damián (Tristán Ulloa) gather the gang, this time in Seville, to carry out a big coup: fake the theft of the painting The Lady with an Ermine. Why pretend? Because their true objective is the Duke of Malaga and his wife, a couple who believe they can blackmail Berlin… and instead they will manage to awaken its darker side. Eight episodes now available on Netflix.
