Dalí’s iconic red jumpsuit and mask are preparing to return to the screen. Netflix shook the entertainment industry by officially confirming that the universe of “The Money Heist” continues to expand.
Five years after the main plot of the series concluded, the platform revealed that the story of the most famous heists on television is far from over.
The announcement occurred during an exclusive event in Seville, where a boat loaded with people dressed in the band’s clothing traveled along the Guadalquivir River to the rhythm of “Bella Ciao.”
Accompanying this deployment, Netflix launched a first trailer that reviews the milestones of the series —from the robbery of the Mint to the assault on the Bank of Spain— and concludes with a forceful sentence: “The universe of La casa de papel continues”.
What is known about the new projects?
Although the streaming giant has not explicitly confirmed a sixth season with the usual cast, clues point to new spin-off stories.
Among the rumors that are gaining more strength, the “Metalseeker”a possible perambulate-off that would be centered on the Colonel Luis Tamayoplayed by Fernando Cayo. According to leaks, the plot would follow the search for the missing gold after the final assault, solving one of the great pending mysteries.
Speculation increased after Fernando Cayo himself interacted in a complicit manner with Netflix publications. Furthermore, this announcement comes at a key moment, since the platform recalled the imminent premiere of the second season of “Berlin” next May 15.
With this move, Netflix is betting on the nostalgia and power of a franchise that redefined the success of non-English-speaking productions globally. As the new preview says: “The revolution is not over”.
