Gavin Newsom, governor of California, promotes an initiative called “Golden Grunt Begin”, whose benefit at the state level consists of providing 400 diapers free of charge to each baby born in hospitals committed to managing the high cost of living.

Derived from the increases registered in most products and services at the national level, It is increasingly difficult for Americans to get ahead, especially for those who choose to become parents. And it goes without saying for those who wish to have more children.

Aware of this, regarding the final stretch of his management as responsible for guiding California, The 58-year-old Democrat intends to support babies born in the hospitals with the greatest demand.

“It’s not a slogan; it’s a box. It’s a box of diapers. It covers an essential need for any new parent, for any family that is being formed,” Newsom said when presenting a new benefit granted by his administration.

According to the politician’s office, During the first year of “Golden Grunt Begin” it will benefit the hospitals with the highest number of patients enrolled in Medi-Cal and then it will expand to other medical institutions.

Kim Johnson, Secretary of Health and Human Services in California, said that the objective of the program is to strengthen families’ economies with the arrival of new members.

“Families, California supports you. We are innovating how the state can use its size, its alliances and its purchasing power to make essential goods more accessible to all Californians. At its core, ‘Golden Grunt Begin’ is about something very simple: giving every child in California a good start,” he said at the conference.

Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization based in California, took on the challenge of manufacturing all the diapers contemplated by the initiative promoted by Gavin Newsom.

Norah Weinstein and Kelly Sawyer Patricof, co-CEOs of Baby2Baby, highlighted the importance of supporting the new parent economy.

“We are extremely proud to collaborate on this historic initiative that will support mothers and babies at their most vulnerable time.

“Diapers are fundamental to our mission at Baby2Baby, as, alarmingly, one in two families in this country has difficulty affording them,” they detailed in a statement.
