Mexican Navy achieves important cocaine seizure in the Pacific Ocean

Deepest of the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) carried out the seizure of 63 packages of drugs, during three different maritime surveillance and security operations in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

The first event took place 180 nautical miles southwest of Acapulco, Guerrero, where, through an operational deployment with an ocean patrol of the Mexican Navy, 22 packages were located floating in the seawhich contained packages with cocaine.

Likewise, approximately two nautical miles from the point of seizure, 11 people were rescued as shipwreckedwho underwent a medical evaluation and were in good health. Upon arrival at the port of Manzanillo, they were handed over to the competent immigration authorities.

In a second event, during the inspection of a ship upon arrival at the port of Manzanillo, Colima, Seven packages with cocaine were found located inside a ship container ship, along with three male persons of foreign nationality, who were traveling as police officers, who were made available to the Celebrated Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic (FGR).

Finally, the third seizure was carried out after recovering 34 packages of drugs 235 nautical miles off the coast of Acapulco, which were collected by surface units of the Mexican Navy and transferred to the port of Huatulco to be delivered to the competent authorities.

It should be noted that these seizures are in addition to the 65.5 tons of illicit cargo seized at sea in the current administration.
