This week, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) alerted consumers about the recall of Horizon Natural brand chocolate milk cartons due to a packaging problem.

According to the health entity, The recall affects more than 63,000 containers in at least four states in the country (Arizona, California, Nevada and Oregon), where they were distributed in the presentations of packages of 6 units of 8 ounces with the UPC: 742365004322, lot number 136518 and best before dates of August 14 and 15, 2026.

According to the manufacturer’s statement, a problem was generated in the sealing of the container, which could cause the boxes to leak, they will swell or spoil, affecting the quality of the product. “Corrective and preventive measures have been implemented to prevent this from happening again,” Horizon Natural said.

For its part, The FDA classified the recall of this product as Class II, since “use or exposure to a defective product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences,” he stated, which is why he recommends discarding the drink or returning it to the retailer where it was purchased for a refund.

Finally, Horizon informed affected consumers that they can contact the company at 1-888-494-3020 and with their proof of purchase verify if they are entitled to a refund.
