The US military announced another attack against a ship accused of transporting drugs in the Caribbean Sea, which left two dead on Monday.

The US Southern Command reiterated earlier statements claiming it had targeted suspected drug traffickers on known smuggling routes.

He posted a video on social media showing a ship sailing before a massive explosion engulfed it in flames.

In a statement, the military organization stated that “two male narcoterrorists died during the operation.” He also indicated that no member of the US forces was injured or suffered damage during the action.

The Trump administration’s campaign to destroy suspected drug trafficking vessels in Latin American waters has continued since early September and has left at least 188 dead in total. Attacks have also occurred in the eastern Pacific.

Despite the war with Iran, the series of attacks has intensified in recent weeks, demonstrating that the government’s aggressive measures to stop what it calls “narcoterrorism” in the Western Hemisphere they do not stop.

The attacks began as the United States reinforced its largest military presence in the region in generations and came months before the January operation that captured then-Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro. Maduro was transferred to New York to face drug trafficking charges and pleaded not guilty.

President Trump has declared that the United States is in “armed conflict” with cartels in Latin America and has justified the attacks as a necessary escalation to stem the flow of drugs into the United States and the fatal overdoses that claim American lives.

However, his administration has presented little evidence to support its claims of killing “narcoterrorists.”
