The authorities of Kentucky They investigate a bank robbery that ended in tragedy after two employees were shot to death Thursday in the city of Berealocated about 36 miles south of Lexington. A person of interest has already been arrested in connection with the case, authorities confirmed Friday.

Participating in the operation were Lexington Police Departmentthe county sheriff’s officeor, the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
The agent Justin Kearney reported on social networks that a person of interest has been arrested and is believed to be related to the bank robbery. So far no further details have been given about the detainee nor has it been confirmed whether money was stolen from the place.
Police also released an image of the suspect, described as a man about 6 feet 3 inches tall who fled the scene on foot after the attack.
As a safety measure, nearby schools were temporarily closed while investigations were conducted. Authorities indicated that students could not leave on school transportation and had to be picked up by their parents until the safety of the campuses was confirmed.
