The supreme leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, He stated this Thursday that a new stage has begun in the Persian Gulf with a “bright” regional future without the United States.

“Today, two months after the largest military concentration and aggression of the world’s thugs in the region and the shameful defeat of the United States, a new chapter is being written for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz“Khamenei said in a message published on the occasion of Persian Gulf Day in Iran.

“By the power and strength of God, the bright future of the region of the Persian Gulf will be a future without the United States and at the service of the progress, well-being and prosperity of their nations,” he assured.

Khamenei maintained that the US bases in the region does not have the power to guarantee its security nor that of its allied countries in the region.

“Foreigners who come from thousands of kilometers away and commit evil and malicious acts have no place in that place, except at the bottom of its waters,” he said.

For the religious and political leader, the new regulations that Tehran is preparing to manage the strait and charge ships for their transit will bring “comfort and progress” for the nations of the region.

The Islamic Republic celebrates every year the Persian Gulf Day on April 30 with different events and speeches from its authorities.

Iran is subject to a naval encirclement by the United Stateswhich has thus responded to the Iranian bloc in the Strait of Hormuz, in turn a reaction to the war started by the United States and Israel on February 28.

After the imposition of the Iranian blockade along the strategic route through which 20% of the world’s oil transited, the circulation of oil tankers has plummeted, which has skyrocketed the price of crude oil.

The Islamic Republic also charges ships who want to transit through the strait and according to the country’s Central Bank have already received payments for it.
